Every Tuesday and Thursday there is literally harmony in the air, with Lew’s music classes.
Everybody has a job to do, some play drums, some play guitar and others sing our new anthem that incorporates “Glory Halleluja.”
Allot of fun is always had by all and we truly thank Lew for offering his time to come help out with our coir. We are making our debut soon at the Houtbaai Gemeente, so keep your eyes peeled for dates on very our first performance!
HB APD was lucky to be invited by Paula Chipps and her book club - Pages – to have an amazing picnic at Kirstenbosch Gardens in association with Mr. Jacobs, one of the Garden’s keepers.
The clients were spoiled yet again with beautiful gift bags with loads of goodies, including cookies, sweeties and a juice.
We decided to go on the “Boomslang” walk and we were amazed by the breath taking scenery and flora all around us. Thank you again to Paula, Mr. Jacobs and Pages book club for making this dream into a reality!
HB APD was extremely excited and honored to be part of the Casual Day breakfast where awards were given out and the theme for this year was announced.
After being spoilt with a lovely breakfast and amazing talent on stage the theme was revealed: TIME TO SHINE!!! We cannot wait to roll up our sleeves and see how many stickers we can sell.
According to the Casual Day MC, over 30 million rand was raised last year to help people with disabilities. This year we are aiming to sell enough stickers so that we can also walk away with our own award.
After weeks of preparation, planning and slaving away, our market day finally arrived on 6 March 2019.
We were blessed with beautiful weather and sunny skies. You could feel the hype in the air as everyone was getting ready early morning to welcome supporters from all over Hout Bay.
The turnout was amazing and our goods on offer were quickly bought! There were smiles all around the center from both clients and customers with fantastic aromas of fresh pancakes, chicken curry & rice as well as boboti filling the air.
Customers were also enticed by the banana muffins and chocolate chip crunchies on offer for those with a sweet tooth and we had the music pumping throughout the day. We are happy to report that our Market Day was a huge success and we would like to thank the following people for their support and donations that made our day such a great triumph!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREG
Greg decided to invite HB APD to his 18th birthday party on the 4th of March 2019, which was held at the Oxford Street premises.
We had a disco party with cake, music and even glow in the dark bracelets to help set the mood…
Allot of fun was had by all and everyone enjoyed the party immensely.
If you would like to have your party or event at our premises, let us know!
